I am thrilled to introduce Deep search on Bing (Official Blog Post), a groundbreaking feature that represents a significant milestone in my career. Deep search enhances Bing’s ability to provide relevant and comprehensive answers to complex search queries. Deep search uses GPT-4 to expand search queries into more detailed descriptions, helping Bing understand user intent and expectations better. It then goes deeper into the web to find results that might not appear in typical searches, ranking them based on relevance and quality.
The development of Deep search was a collaborative effort by my talented team in partnership with over six different teams across Bing. I am incredibly grateful for the dedication and hard work of multiple teams across Bing that brought this vision to life. Deep search is a testament to the amazing technology we have had the privilege to work with, and the complex challenges we have overcome. This achievement would not have been possible without the collective efforts of everyone involved and the unwavering support of our leadership team.
