Africa + Startups = Kongossa

Crossposted from WootStudio.

The world has recognized the promise of Africa. It is home to more than a billion people and houses 16 of the world’s 30 fastest growing economies. Coupled with explosive Internet growth, there are incredible opportunities for startups and technologists.

Africa Link is an Cameroun-based organization dedicated to increasing access to the Internet in Africa. They are organizing an awesome all-day conference in Montreal, September 21st at Concordia University. The Kongossa Web Series is an international forum which assembles the most reputable experts of Digital Marketing, Entrepreneurship and the Social Economy to deliver conferences and panels on the most important topics of today for Africa and Canada.

I am quite excited to be giving a talk among such great speakers as Jon Gosier, Frédéric Harper and Franck Nlemba. I will be speaking about the startup ecosystem in Montreal, the BizSpark program and Imagine Cup. Take a look at the speakers overview on YouTube.

If you are a startup looking to raise funding, I have a special treat for you. I have invited my friend Louis-Phillippe Maurice from the startup BusBud to chat with you at the Microsoft booth between noon and 1PM about raising Series A capital in Montreal.
